Mrs. Mô Bleeker, acts as the Special Envoy and head of the Task force for Dealing with the Past-DWP and Prevention of Atrocities-PA. She works in the Swiss department of Foreign Affairs- FDFA since 2003.
The Task Force DWP&PA is the competence center of the FDFA on dealing With the Past and the Prevention of Atrocities; it support bilateral processes and launches multilateral and diplomatic initiatives in these fields. As an interdepartmental entity, it convenes persons from the division for international and multilateral institutions, the international law directorate, the direction for cooperation and humanitarian aid and the human security division, who are working together to ensure a coherent Swiss approach in this field.
Mô Bleeker has been working since the eighties in societies engaged in process of transition from violent conflict, war or dictatorship to peace; in Central America, Colombia, Balkan, North, South and South Eastern Asia, Central Asia, Central, North and Western Africa. Since 2009, she is also the acting president of the governmental initiative “Historical Memory Group” in Colombia. She is also prominently engaged in the creation and promotion of the “Global Action Against Mass Atrocity Crime” GAAMAC an international government lead network for prevention (www.gaamac.org) .
Mô Bleeker wrote many articles on conflict transformation, human rights, peace and justice issues, published a book and realized documentaries. Mô Bleeker has studied anthropology, religion sciences, journalism and social communication. She also holds a post-graduate diploma in development studies at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva.
